Posted January 20, 2026

Lewis Central Community School District is proud to announce that five Lewis Central alumni have been inducted into the Council Bluffs Professional Sports Roster, an honor created by the Iowa West Foundation. This designation recognizes athletes from Council Bluffs who have gone on to compete at the professional or Olympic level, celebrating both athletic excellence and the community that helped shape them.
The Lewis Central inductees include:
-
Cole Jensen, Major League Soccer, Inter Miami, Class of 2019
-
Georgi Ivanov, Olympic Wrestler, Class of 2008
-
Caleb Shudak, Tennessee Titans, Class of 2016
-
Max Duggan, Los Angeles Chargers, Class of 2019
-
Thomas Fidone, New York Giants, Class of 2021
These five Titans were honored alongside 19 other Council Bluffs natives at a reception held on January 20 at the Iowa West Field House. During the ceremony, banners recognizing each athlete were unveiled inside the Field House, creating a lasting tribute to their accomplishments and their roots in Council Bluffs.

Several of the inductees who were able to attend spoke during the event, sharing stories from their athletic journeys and offering words of advice to the student-athletes in attendance. Their messages emphasized perseverance, hard work, and pride in where they come from—powerful reminders that success at the highest levels can begin right here in Council Bluffs.
A number of current Lewis Central High School athletes attended the celebration, gaining firsthand insight into what is possible and seeing tangible examples of how Council Bluffs continues to produce top-tier athletes. The event served not only as a celebration of past achievements, but also as inspiration for the next generation.
Lewis Central is incredibly proud of these alumni and their accomplishments. Their success reflects the strength of our schools, our coaches, our families, and our community—and the Titan pride that stays with our students long after graduation.
