LCHS Sophomores Take Part in Annual Respect Retreat

Posted December 11, 2025

On Wednesday, December 10th, LCHS sophomores stepped away from their regular schedules to participate in the annual Sophomore Respect Retreat led by Youth Frontiers — a day dedicated to connection, reflection, and building a stronger school community.

The retreat was packed with engaging activities designed to help students break out of their comfort zones and meet new people. Throughout the day, students participated in upbeat games that encouraged them to seek out classmates they hadn’t met before, exchange high-fives, and shake hands. These simple interactions set the tone for an open, welcoming environment where everyone felt included.

In addition to the fun and high-energy activities, students also took part in meaningful conversations. They gathered in both small and large groups to discuss what respect looks like in their daily lives — in the classroom, in friendships, and throughout the school community. These conversations challenged students to think deeply, listen to others' perspectives, and consider how their actions contribute to a positive environment at LCHS.

With music, movement, and heartfelt dialogue woven throughout the day, the Respect Retreat offered students a powerful opportunity to grow together. We’re proud of our sophomores for embracing the experience and taking steps toward creating a culture of respect that strengthens our school community.
