LCHS Students Honored by Hawkeye 10 Conference

Posted April 2, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that several of our high school students have been recognized by the Hawkeye 10 Conference for their exceptional dedication to academics, leadership, and integrity.

To qualify for the All-Academic Award, students must demonstrate elite performance on ACT or ISASP testing while maintaining a high GPA and proving their commitment to service and leadership. Similarly, the Character Award is reserved for those who exemplify the "Six Pillars of Character," along with consideration of overcoming obstacles, making difficult choices, generosity, and community service.

Amelia Guill

Amelia has been a driving force in our performing arts and student leadership. As a Section Leader and Drum Major in the band, as well as a Vocal Captain for varsity show choir, she has consistently led by example. Her musical talents earned her the "Best of Center" at the Southwest Iowa Band Association Solo and Ensemble Contest. Beyond the stage, Amelia serves on the Student Council Executive Board and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Alexander Alford

Alexander’s resume is a testament to his versatility. An All-State percussionist and Front Ensemble Captain, he has also excelled in the business arena as a three-time BPA National Qualifier. Between his time on the Student Council Executive Board and competing in varsity cross country, Alexander has shown incredible time management and drive.

Cooper Williams

A true scholar-athlete, Cooper has been a powerhouse on the field and in the classroom. He is a four-year varsity soccer starter (earning First Team All-Conference honors) and a three-year varsity basketball player. When he isn't competing, Cooper is an active member of the National Honor Society, maintaining the high standards required for this prestigious conference award.

Deegan Tanner

The Character Award is a reflection of a student’s heart and resilience, and Deegan Tanner embodies these qualities perfectly. Elected by his peers as Senior Class President, Deegan also serves as the Varsity Show Choir Dance Captain and is a member of the National Honor Society. He was nominated for his generosity, community service, and his ability to lead with integrity in every role he takes on.

Congratulations to all our honorees! We can't wait to see the impact you make in your future endeavors.
