About the Production:
Set in 1926, Radium Girls tells the gripping true story of a group of young women who painted luminous watch dials with radium, believed at the time to be a miracle cure. When these women begin to suffer from a mysterious and devastating illness, Grace Fryer, one of the dial painters, takes a courageous stand to fight for justice.
Grace’s battle is not only against her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man struggling to reconcile the benefits of radium with its dangers, but also against the fears of her own family and friends who worry her fight might do more harm than good.
This moving drama sheds light on a pivotal moment in history where science, industry, and human rights collide.
