LCMS Students Participate in National History Day

Posted March 5, 2026

Seven 8th-grade students from LCMS recently competed at the National History Day (NHD) regional competition. This year marked the highest level of participation the middle school has seen in several years, and our students were incredibly poised and engaging during their interviews. Beyond their academic work, they did an outstanding job supporting and congratulating one another throughout the event.

A special shout-out goes to Danica McLean and Ryleigh Lanegan for their exhibit, "The Revolution and Reformation of Red Lipstick in the Women's Suffrage Movement." They did a fantastic job and should be extremely proud of their hard work.

We are thrilled to announce that five of these students have qualified to compete at the state-level National History Day competition at Iowa State University in late April.

Qualifiers:

Parker Wiezorek

Lyla Barnes, Darrian Call, Tegan Kirke, and Kolbe Upson
