Playground Upgrades Complete at Titan Hill Intermediate School
Posted December 22, 2025
Titan Hill Intermediate School students have a brand-new place to play! Playground upgrades and renovations at Titan Hill are officially complete, and the excitement was celebrated with a special holiday-edition ribbon-cutting on Friday, December 19.

A few classes of Titan Hill students helped mark the occasion, joined by Superintendent Dr. Hoesing, Lewis Central School Board Director Amy Adkins, Titan Hill Principal Dana Barker, Assistant Principal Michelle Hoffman, School Business Official Andrea Raes, and HR Generalist Jenni Wright. The event gave students an early chance to explore the new spaces while celebrating a big milestone for the school.
The main playground at Titan Hill received new equipment designed to serve a wide range of student needs. Updates include more inclusive play options, such as an ADA-accessible merry-go-round, along with new turf surfacing to enhance safety and usability.

In addition, the former open field playground was transformed into a turf play area featuring two year-round gaga ball pits, providing students with even more opportunities for active play throughout the school year.

The completion of these two playgrounds officially finalizes the Titan Hill playground project. Earlier this fall, new equipment was also added to the Adventure Playground on the south side of the building, rounding out the full scope of improvements.

This project was funded through the 2024 General Obligation Bond. We are incredibly grateful to our community for their continued support and investment in spaces that enhance student learning, play, and well-being. The updated playgrounds will serve Titan Hill students for years to come, creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments for recess and beyond!
