What We're Learning

Music (Ms. O'Connell)

In music, the students are playing instruments to accompany a song through a site called Musication. They have been demonstrating their knowledge of music concepts (loud, soft, fast, slow) through movement. They have also begun to learn some music notes. Ask them if they can draw a "ta"!

Art (Mrs. Powers)

Kindergarten and first grade students have been mixing primary colors to make secondary colors! Be sure to check out your student's online portfolio on Artsonia! If you have questions, please feel free to message me through SeeSaw.

PE (Mr. S)

We have been having so much fun in PE lately! Soon, we'll be shifting our focus to catching skills using all kinds of different fun objects. To help our little athletes build coordination, we are teaching them two simple tricks:

We have plenty of exciting games lined up to help them practice, and we can't wait to see their confidence grow!

Library (Mrs. Nightser & Mrs. B)

In the library, we have been reading books about fall and Halloween, and learning about the season's changing. We will continue to learn about parts of books (like the spine, cover, and title page) and to look for "secret covers" on our books. See you at the book fair!

Classroom Counseling (Ms. Krajicek)

K and 1st grade students are beginning Unit #2 learning in our Second Step curriculum. This unit is all about emotion management and coping skills. Students will practice and demonstrate naming emotions and focus on deep breathing as a coping skill.

Don't miss this!
