Three LCHS Girls Wrestlers Advance to State Tournament

Lewis Central High School is proud to celebrate an incredible achievement by our girls wrestling program! Three Titans—Avaeh Smith, Lindsay Trotter, and Madison Wright—have qualified for the 2026 Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) State Wrestling Tournament.
The state competition will take place February 5–6, 2026, at the Xtream Arena in Coralville, and will feature the top wrestlers from across Iowa. Qualifying for state is no small feat, and these athletes have demonstrated exceptional dedication, strength, and perseverance throughout the season.

In addition to our state qualifiers, several other Lewis Central wrestlers delivered outstanding performances at the regional tournament and came extremely close to advancing.
- Sophia Mescher – 3rd place
- Leighton Finnegan – 4th place
- Kalen Jo Westerfield – 3rd place
- Peyton Katzer – 4th place
- Vanessa Guzman – 3rd place
Each of these athletes represented Lewis Central with grit, sportsmanship, and pride, showcasing the continued growth and strength of our girls wrestling program.
