Posted October 24, 2025

We are thrilled to celebrate two talented LCMS students, Caylee Adams (8th grade) and Hadley Frederick (6th grade), for winning the Council Bluffs Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest. Their outstanding posters stood out among many entries, showcasing creativity and important safety messages.

On Friday, the Council Bluffs Fire Department honored Caylee and Hadley by picking them up from school and taking them to a special luncheon at the fire station. The event was a wonderful opportunity to recognize their hard work and artistic skills. Both students’ parents and their principal, Dr. Reynolds, joined them for this memorable occasion.

What makes this achievement even more exciting is that the students’ posters were made into magnets! These magnets will be proudly displayed on CBFD trucks throughout the town, spreading the crucial Fire Prevention Week message far and wide.

This year’s contest and Fire Prevention Week theme was "Charge into Safety - Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home." It focused on teaching students the importance of safely buying, charging, and recycling lithium-ion batteries to prevent fires and keep homes safe.

A big thank you to the Council Bluffs Fire Department for hosting this meaningful competition and for their ongoing dedication to keeping our community informed and safe.

Once again, congratulations to Caylee and Hadley for their fantastic work and for helping promote fire safety in our community!
